Acic Cold Sore Cream 5% w/w Aciclovir 2g
Acic Cold Sore 5% w/w Cream is indicated in adults and children for the treatment of cold sores, which caused by the herpes simplex virus.
You Must Be Aged Over 18 Years to Purchase This Product.
Preparation and Usage:
Directions:
Adults and children
Start using the cream when you get the first signs of infection. You may see skin blisters or be able to recognise the 'tingle' sensation that means that a blister will appear soon.
Spread a thin layer of cream onto the cold sore about every 4 hours during your day. This is usually about 5 times each day.
It is best to use a cotton bud to apply the cream. If you do use your fingers instead, wash them thoroughly before and after using the cream. This is to prevent you spreading the virus to damaged skin or to other areas.
Use the cream for at least 4 days. If your cold sore has not healed completely after 4 days, carry on using the cream for 6 more days. If the cold sore has not healed after a total of 10 days, stop using the cream and tell your doctor.
If you feel your cold sore is getting worse tell your doctor.
Do not use Acic if you are allergic to aciclovir, valaciclovir or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in the Patient Information Leaflet).
Do not use Acic if the sores are inside your mouth, on the eyes or on your genitals.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
This medication can have side-effects, like all medicines, although these are usually mild and do not affect everyone. If you experience any side-effects, please talk to your doctor
