What is hCG? A hormone produced by the placenta which can be detected in urine.
Early pregnancy tests are a more sensitive type of urine test. This test can detect human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)—the early pregnancy hormone—before your missed period and give you an accurate result.
hCG is produced by the developing placenta shortly after fertilization. In normal pregnancy, hCG can be detected in both urine and serum as early as 7 to 10 days after conception.
You can test any time of the day. However, the first morning urine contains the highest amounts of hCG and therefore gives more reliable results
